Free September iPhone Calendar Wallpapers

September 1, 2010

It’s the 1st of the month again and you know what that means – more free calendar wallpapers.

As you can see by the size of them, we’re now supporting the iPhone 4’s retina display but don’t worry if you haven’t upgraded yet, your old iPhone will just scale them down to fit.

The first one shows the actual innards of your iPhone 4 – the second is a nice bright image courtesy of Vlad Studios. As per usual, the wallpapers are created with our MyCal app that lets you superimpose calendar information on the picture of your choice and then save it out as a wallpaper image.

Why not buy a copy of the app and experiment with your own wallpapers? Make a new one every day or send them to your friends…

PhotoFramePlus 1.3 live

August 12, 2010

We’re pleased to announce that the latest version has gone live today. We’d recommend that all users update to the latest (more stable) version.

If anybody is still having any problems please let us know.

PhotoFramePlus 1.3 submitted

August 10, 2010

PhotoFramePlus users will be pleased to know that we’ve tracked down the gremlin that was causing the app to crash on launch.

A new version has been submitted to Apple and will (hopefully) be available any day now. Sorry it took so long to fix (mainly due to the fact that our lead programmer was on holiday and completely out of contact) and thanks for your patience.

Free August Calendar Wallpapers

August 2, 2010

We’re a day late, but here’s a couple of Free iPhone Calendar Wallpapers. As per usual, they’ve been created using our MyCal app which has recently been updated and now supports weeks starting on Monday as well as Sunday – so there’s one of each below.

PhotoFramePlus ‘August bug’

August 2, 2010

As a lot of you have noticed, as of August 1st, PhotoFramePlus has been crashing at launch.

The fact that it stopped working on August 1st indicates it must be a calendar related bug but we can’t think what’s special about the date. Has anybody had any problems with other date related apps? We’re looking into it now and will let you know as soon as we can offer a fix.

We can only apologize for the inconvenience and assure you we will get the problem resolved.

MyCal Infinity

July 28, 2010

The latest version of MyCal, our iPhone Calendar Wallpaper maker app, has just gone live. New features in this update include the much requested ability to start the week on a Monday (for all us Europeans) and, at long last, a lot more flexibility in choosing month and year. Yes, you can now make a calendar for each month for the next few years if that’s the way you roll! Hence the ‘infinity’ symbol on the icon.

We’ve also added a new set of subtly coloured backgrounds to use if you prefer the minimalist look – see the free samples below (yes, we know there’s only a few days of July left – we’ll post some August ones soon).

We’re also semi-supporting the new iPhone 4 retina display. If you want your calendar text to look as crisp as possible take a screengrab of the preview screen rather than saving it. Just press the home and power buttons simultaneously to save a high res version of the screen to your Camera Roll.

Free iPhone July Calendar Wallpapers

July 1, 2010

Wow – July already and over here in the UK we’ve been having a mini heatwave.

Here’s a couple of Calendar wallpapers to get the month off to a good start:

As per usual, they’re created with our MyCal app which is available in the App Store. Enjoy.

iPhone 4

June 25, 2010

Like many of you, we queued for hours yesterday to get our hands on a shiny new iPhone 4.

These were the biggest queues I’ve ever seen for an Apple product so they must be doing something right. The first thing we did was check out that all our apps still worked perfectly on the new toy…

The only strange behaviour we could find was that Done’s ‘shake to sort’ feature appeared to be broken – we’re looking into it now and expect to have a minor update out shortly to fix it. The graphics on most of the apps seemed to hold up pretty well on the new high resolution Retina display. Done seemed to benefit the most with the type now looking super sharp.

Any other issues that you’ve found that we might have missed?

MyCal June 2010

June 1, 2010

We’re really sorry about this but the June update of MyCal hasn’t gone live yet.  Apple’s approval process has been getting pretty slow again lately (I guess the iPad launch hasn’t helped).

Hopefully the update will appear today or tomorrow and in the meantime, here’s a couple of wallpapers to keep you going. This month’s images are courtesy of Macrolicious.

We are working on a version of MyCal that allows you to pick any month it’s just a matter of scheduling it in. To be honest we have made/are making so little money from MyCal that other things keep taking priority. Apple’s new policy with updates doesn’t help either. They used to treat updates as new release so you’d jump to the top of the list again, new people would see and buy the app making the upgrade financially worthwhile but so many devs were abusing the system, they stopped it. So now upgrades result in no extra income (which is why so many devs are trying to go down the in-app purchase route).

Anyway, bottom line is we now have the code to do what we want to do with MyCal and are using it in our iPad app PhotoFramePlus (with infinite calendar:) and just need to repurpose it into MyCal along with a few other nice touches (start the week on Monday/Sunday etc.) We promise we’ll get there soon…

PhotoFramePlus Sale

May 28, 2010

The iPad finally reaches Europe today and to celebrate we’re slashing the price of PhotoFramePlus by 2/3rds. That’s right grab a copy now for just 59p! Of course the offer is open to the US too where you’ll get it for the bargain price of 99c (and everywhere else for that matter…)

In case you haven’t come across PhotoFramePlus here’s all you need to know:

If you intending to use your iPad as a digital photo frame you’ll love PhotoFramePlus. PhotoFramePlus is an improvement over the iPad’s built-in slideshow in several ways. We’ve added a time and date display which turns your iPad into a beautiful personalised desktop calendar. A quick tap of the finger displays a full year’s calendar (with week numbers) and if your pictures are a mix of wide and tall, PhotoFramePlus intelligently scales and crops them to fit, so you always get a full screen image – no more black bars! And, it doesn’t stop there. We’ll be adding new screens that add new features and more functionality. You tell us what screens you want and we’ll build them for you!

Check out PhotoFramePlus’s dedicated website for more info.
