TimeDevice 1

As well the updates mentioned previously, we’ve also just submitted TimeDevice 01, our latest app to Apple.

TimeDevice3up

TimeDevice 01 is the first iPhone app in a collaboration between Chilli X and internationally renowned designer, illustrator and typographer, Rian Hughes. If you don’t know Rian, it’s worth checking out his Wikipedia entry – it’s quite an entertaining read (especially the description of his first job interview). To see more of his work or purchase some of his fonts, visit his website.

Rian brings his love of type and color to this unique designer clock. The hour and minutes are displayed in a bold black font while the seconds display darkens slowly over the course of a minute.
The background color can be left to change automatically, in which case it slowly fades through the spectrum, or manually – just shake the phone to select a random color.

Back to TimeDevice 01: As you can see from the screens above, Rian has bought his love of type and color to this unique designer clock. The hour and minutes are displayed in a bold black font while the seconds display darkens slowly over the course of a minute.

The background color can be left to change automatically, in which case it slowly fades through the spectrum, or manually – just shake the phone to select a random color. It’s a very distinctive looking clock and looks great running on your desk with the colors slowly changing throughout the day.

We’ll let you know as soon as it’s available in the App Store.

    Hi,

will I be able to set the 02 version of TimeDevice as my iphone wallpaper?

    Thanks, Parg

      Hi Parg

Thanks for the feedback – not quite sure what you mean though.

If you mean will you be able to set a working clock as your wallpaper then the answer is ‘no’. Currently the iPhone operating system doesn’t allow for any functionality of the wallpaper or lockscreen. You can fake it by taking a screenshot of TimeDevice and setting that as your wallpaper and while it might look quite cool it won’t actually show the correct time 🙂
