Using Done – Tip 4: Repeating Entries

By chillix

Welcome to the fourth in a series of small tips for getting more out of Done, our iPhone To Do list app.

A few people have asked how they can manage their repeating tasks. At the moment, Done doesn’t handle repeating entries as such but this is the way I deal with them:

Rather than tick the item off as complete by clicking its check box, just click on the item itself and it will open for editing. Then just adjust the date to the next time you want it to repeat and give the phone a shake. The item will then disappear down your list until it works it’s way back up again next month (or week etc).

It’s easy to see the date you want by looking at the due date display just above the picker – this way you can easily adjust the date to next Sunday rather than having to add 7 days in your head (I was never any good at maths…)

Also, by not clicking the entry as complete, there’s no way you’ll accidentally delete it when using the ‘Delete all completed tasks’ button.
